This course facilitates Arabic subtitles to help students achieve confident, relaxed, and natural-sounding English abilities. This course is open to all levels. This course is the one-stop class that will see an absolute change in your American English accent.
Module 1: Getting Started
In this course, we will be focusing on all of the main, most priority sounds and aspects of speech that tend to be changed when we take our linguistic tendencies from Arabic and transfer them over to English.
So we're going to show you these two tricks. That'll be really great for you to use moving forward throughout this presentation course when you run into difficulty or some struggle.
Module 2: Tricky consonants
Okay. So let's get started here for our first session. We are going to be talking about the P and B sounds.
This concept is something that we call consonant clusters. So we're going to go into what that means.
I know this might be more of a technical term or something that you have not heard of before.
We're increasing awareness of how we use our jaw or lips, our tongue to make different sounds.
Welcome back to another video on another really important consonant sound for native Arabic speakers.
Okay. so in the speech analysis, um, we're going to listen to a clip analyzed in this short video.
Module 3: American Prosody
We're going to talk about some different aspects of speech.
So I invite you to open up your mind to other ways that we use speech.
Today is all about a vowel sound that we are going to learn that is called the schwa
We're talking about aspects of language that no one ever talks about in the classroom. No more, rarely. These aren't classic or typical things that you'll see in other language learning curriculums,
but it's so important because of pronunciation and how we use our voice, especially in prosody with this module.
Please pay close attention to this video and watch the examples that we go through as many times,
as you need to practice more these different aspects of speech yourself because being able to analyze things on your own moving forward is an essential part of feeling independent in your pronunciation and accent, uh, challenges moving forward.
Module 4: Bonus Sounds
This is a very common sound for non-native English speakers to struggle with.
So we're going to go through the different American are sounds that exist because they are not all the same so that you can understand them better and know exactly how to practice them moving forward.
This is a really fun video because we're talking about something a bit different than what we have done in the rest of these modules.
I'm so proud of you for making it this far!
